This is NOT a solicitation or request for quote (RFQ). This is NOT a request for proposal (RFP). This is NOT a job advertisement for hiring employees. The VA is seeking QUALIFIED VENDORS to provide a very brief response to this notice including only just what is asked for in this notice below. This is sources sought notice to industry and the only information is posted on Contract Opportunities web page at SAM.gov. Sources sought means seeking qualified vendors. The attachments included on the Contract Opportunities page do not include any additional information.

IMPORTANT NOTE: This Sources Sought is for market research purposes only (to determine the socioeconomic status of interested companies). No award will be made off this posting.
The Montana VA Health Care System (MVAHCS) requires delivery and installation of (17) ultra-low medical beds (brand name or equal to Umano Medical OOK SNOW) for use in their new Community Living Center (CLC) in Miles City, Montana.

**It is anticipated this requirement may be solicited as a Brand Name or Equal for the Umano Medical s brand OOK SNOW model bed (bariatric and regular) in accordance with the listed salient characteristics. **
Salient Characteristics:
Standard Low Height Bed Systems (Qty 15)
Weight capacity 600 lbs.; four DC motors with battery backup
Must be able to lower to a minimum height of 10 inches from the floor
Bed design must not include any side rails OR shall be removable upon delivery and installation
Flat deck; open architecture; central braking system with four corner pedals; 5 inch dual casters
Integrated nurse and patient controls with lockout capability
One step Trendelenburg; auto contour; manual CPR feature
Backrest design that reduces patient migration, backrest angle indicator
Integrated scale: three level bed exit detection; side view exit lights
120 V power system; quick disconnect power cord; auxiliary outlets and USB ports
Connectivity capability for nurse call systems
Patient assist bar (head of bed); adjustable bed length (80/84/90 inches)
Wall protection bumpers; bed status monitoring (e.g., brake indicators)
Touch screen control interface; imperial units
Cleanable, durable finishes suitable for long term care use
Bariatric Low Height Bed Systems (Qty 2)
Weight capacity 1,060 lbs
Must be able to lower to a programmable minimum height (low height) of ~11 inches
Bed design must not include any side rails OR be removable upon delivery and installation
Integrated scale: three level bed exit detection; remote alarm connectivity
Footboard mounted nurse controls with lockout; displayed Trendelenburg angle
Liftable or removable deck covers for cleaning; one step Trendelenburg; vascular foot positioning
Adjustable width range approximately 35 47 inches
One touch clinical positioning (e.g., chair, 30° HOB, flat)
Nightlights and side view exit lighting
Connectivity for nurse call and room light activation
Quick disconnect power cord, auxiliary outlets and pendant port
Backrest design that reduces patient migration, backrest angle indicator
Integrated length extension; wall bumpers; backup controls at foot end

Cleanable, durable finishes appropriate for bariatric care
Accessories and Service Coverage:
Shall include an extended, 5-year warranty on parts and labor for all bed systems (17 total)
Seventeen (17) long term care support surfaces with stretch polyurethane covers and fire barriers
Eight (8) support surface control units
Ten (10) patient assist trapeze units (appropriate for both standard and bariatric beds)
One (1) alternating pressure/low air loss mattress system with pump (adjustable lengths and widths)
Seventeen (17) bed to nurse call connectivity cables
Seventeen (17) removable patient control units
Configuration of head siderail removal for 15 beds
Must provide delivery, installation, and training
The Contractor, its employees, agents, and subcontractors shall not be considered VA employees for any purpose of fulfilling the PWS and shall be considered employees of the Contractor. Contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, equipment, tools, shipping, transportation, insurances, licenses, certifications, and supervision necessary to provide services in accordance with this Performance Work Statement (PWS). The Contractor is responsible for all charges and fees related to disposal of materials generated by the Contractor.
This is anticipated to be a commercial supply acquisition under the authority of FAR Part 12, Simplified Acquisition Procedures for Commercial Items.

IMPORTANT NOTE: This RFI (Request for Information) is for information only.
No award will be made from this RFI.
QUALIFIED VENDOR: A qualified source has the a) necessary equipment, vehicles, personnel, resources and current operations as well as b) recent experience (within past 3 years) of performing services of a comparable size, scope and complexity, AND c) OEM certified technicians to perform services with unrestricted access to the facility during inclement weather, as well as immediate access to OEM software updates. A qualified source also has current and valid registration in System for Award Management (SAM), https://www.sam.gov). A qualified source will also be able to comply with Limitations of Subcontracting pursuant to FAR 19.507.
