SUBMISSION OF INFORMATION ABOUT PRICING, DELIVERY, THE MARKET, AND CAPABILITIES IS HIGHLY ENCOURAGED AND ALLOWED UNDER THIS RFI FOR PLANNING PURPOSES IN ACCORDANCE WITH (IAW) FAR 15.201(e).

SOURCES SOUGHT/RFI DESCRIPTION
This is NOT a solicitation announcement. This is a Sources Sought Notice / RFI only. The purpose of this Sources Sought Notice / RFI is to gain information about potential qualified sources and their size classification relative to NAICS 339113 (size standard of 800 Employees). Responses to this Sources Sought Notice / RFI will be used by the Government to make appropriate acquisition decisions. After review of the responses to this Sources Sought Notice / RFI, further RFIs and/or a solicitation or other announcements may be published.
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is seeking sources capable of providing laminar flow hoods equivalent to brand Germfree.
STATEMENT OF WORK
General:
VA San Diego Healthcare System located at 3350 La Jolla Village Drive, San Diego, CA 92161 has a requirement for laminar flow hoods and accessories compatible with Omnicell IVX devices with the following required salient characteristics. This equipment is intended to replace current compounding aseptic isolator hoods in the intensive care unit (ICU) and operating room (OR).
Scope:
VA San Diego facility is looking to purchase two (2) horizontal laminar flow hood systems. The contractor is required to provide brand name or equal equipment that meets or exceeds the physical, functional, and performance of the listed SOW in this section. Installation services will be required. Please note shipping term is FOB
Destination; all shipping cost must be included in unit cost.

Must be a horizontal laminar flow hood not a containment barrier hood/isolator hood.
Must be intended for the preparation of non-hazardous compounded sterile products.
Must have a sleek compact design for effective cleaning minimizing the risk of contamination.
Must have 2 cable passthroughs for powering Omnicell IVX devices.
Must be able to fit the Omnicell IVX devices with adequate compounding space.
Must be USP 797 compliant for sterile compounding.
Must be ISO Class 5 air quality.
Must have low glare LED lighting with touch screen interface and integrated pressure monitoring and alarms.
Must be integrated with full width HEPA filter with unidirectional airflow for superior particle removal.
Must be a minimum of four (4) feet and be height adjustable via electric lift stand controls or similar to cater to each technician s height.
Must come equipped with rolling casters/wheels for easy transportation.
Must have stainless steel construction for durability and easy cleaning.
Hood must come equipped with IV hanging bar and hooks.
Must come with the following accessories: kit for seismic anchoring compatible with casters and wall anchors as well as additional prefilters.
Contractor must offer initial onsite setup and installation service of equipment.
Warranty of Equipment
Government requirement for standard manufacturer industry warranty term. The
government does not accept extended warranties, which require advance payment. Warranty shall include but not be limited to mechanical and electrical components.
Period of Performance

Delivery and Installation Service:
The contractor shall provide delivery, installation, and installation qualification/operational qualification (IQ/OQ) documentation.
Delivery and receipt of the proposed items is anticipated to be directed to the location identified below. Confirmation of delivery location will be provided by the VA POC post-award. Delivery must be pre-coordinated with VA prior to any attempts at delivery. Any item that has not been coordinated will be turned away and any additional charges will be the responsibility of the sender/transportation company.
The contractor shall provide all travel, tools, labor, and materials necessary to complete assembly and uninstallation/installation of items detailed in this document.
The contractor s responsibility will include offloading the equipment from the truck, moving the equipment to the correct delivery location in the space, uncrating or unboxing the equipment and setting up the equipment according to the manufacturer`s specification followed by testing the equipment to verify that it is operational. Equipment IQ/OQ paperwork & warranty information must be handed to the approved government contact onsite.
The contractor is responsible for removing and properly disposing of all waste related to the services provided on-site at all VA facilities.
On-site installation of items and performance of services identified in this document shall take place during normal duty hours: 8:00 a.m. through 3:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, not including federal holidays.

The list of Draft laminar flow hood characteristics is intended to be descriptive, not restrictive, of the supplies/services that are required.
If your company is interested and capable of providing the required supplies/services, please provide the information indicated below. Incomplete responses to the questions below this notice will not be accepted. Response to this notice should include company name, address, point of contact, size of business pursuant to the following questions:
(1) Submit your capabilities statement illustrating how your organization can/cannot meet the SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS. For instances where your company cannot meet the SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS, please explain. For instances where your company can meet the SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS requirement(s), please show how your company meets/exceeds each requirement.
(2) Please review the SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS and provide any additional feedback or suggestions. If none, please reply as N/A.
