Request for Information
The Government is conducting market research via this Request for Information (RFI) to identify potential sources that possess the engineering expertise, capabilities, and experience to meet qualification requirements for EDS II design refinement, system integration, airworthiness certification, and testing alongside the 578th organization. This effort also includes, but is not limited to, procurement and kitting, acquiring best value products, and identifying sources with experience supporting C-5 efforts. The EDS II requirements include the procurement and integration of the following components per aircraft: one Auxiliary Maintenance Computer (AMC) manufactured by Systel (Hawk IV); one PCIU (GETAC B360G3); one AMC II Tray developed by Systel; one Ruggedized Switch (DuraNet 300); one FE Station Mount developed by the 578th; and an Ethernet Wire Harness developed by the 578th (yardage to be determined). For context, the current legacy aircraft EDS configuration consists of the following baseline items per aircraft: one Auxiliary Maintenance Computer located in Avionics Bay 2 (Part Number: 4K99004-105A, NSN: 6610-01-606-0966); one PCIU located at the FE Station (Part Number: 714180-7100, NSN: 7021-01-702-8465); one PCIU Mount located at the FE Station; and one AMC Tray located in Avionics Bay 2 (Part Number: 4K99004-103A, NSN: 5975-01-524-5514). To support this transition, the Contractor shall provide engineering support, procure, kit, manage, and distribute kits for contractor-managed and USG-managed items to satisfy USG-approved C-5M supply support requirements for the identified C-5M items. All new procurement, kitting, and engineering modification actions shall be in accordance with the USG-approved configuration. The Contractor shall retain accountability of, manage, and distribute the inventory using the Contractor's inventory management processes, and may be required to store kits and parts until they are distributed to the field. The Contractor shall be responsible for the procurement and inventory management of peculiar items required to support kitting demands and stock levels at designated locations. Contractors and institutions responding to this market research are placed on notice that participation in this survey may not ensure participation in future solicitations or contract awards. The Government will not reimburse participants for any expenses associated with their participation in this survey.
