Household Goods Moving, Shipping, Transportation, and Storage Service Providers Software Integration Request for Information

UPDATE (23 September 2026): Due to the significant number of questions received, this Special Notice is amended to extend the Request for Information (RFI) submission deadline. This extension allows the Personal Property Activity (PPA) team to review the questions received and provide responses as applicable. The PPA team responses will be posted at a later date prior to the RFI submission deadline. Companies or interested stakeholders who have already submitted an RFI response may revise or update their submission prior to the new deadline. The attached RFI has been amended to reflect the new submission deadline; no other changes have been made to that attachment.

INTRODUCTION

The Personal Property Activity (PPA) is conducting market research to understand how integrating vendor systems with a government central platform via an Application Programming Interface (API) will affect household goods (HHG) moving, shipping, transportation, and storage service providers.

Accordingly, the PPA invites industry partners and service providers to submit detailed information regarding integration costs, associated software development timelines, standard industry practices, and recommendations for testing and risk mitigation when connecting their internal software systems to a central Government platform.

This RFI enables industry stakeholders to provide direct feedback on how this type of integration will impact their current systems and operations, helping to shape future technical requirements and acquisition decisions. This RFI is issued solely for informational and planning purposes and does not constitute a solicitation for proposals.

Responses to this notice are not offers and cannot form a binding contract. The PPA is not under any obligation to pursue any acquisition alternative based on this RFI, and the Government will not compensate respondents for any information received.  All submissions will be kept confidential, will become the property of the U.S. Government, and will not be returned.
