Europe South District Playground Inspection, Maintenance, and Repair

The Department of War Education Activity (DoWEA) is one of only two federally operated school systems in the United States. DoWEA plans, directs, coordinates, and manages pre-kindergarten through grade 12 educational programs on behalf of the Department of War (DoW). DoWEA operates approximately 165 brick-and-mortar schools across eight districts located in seven U.S. states, eleven foreign countries, Guam, and Puerto Rico, serving more than 72,000 students worldwide. DoWEA Europe consists of multiple districts encompassing schools, District Superintendent Offices (DSOs), and Student Transportation Offices (STOs) supporting children of active-duty military members and eligible civilian employees. The Contractor shall provide full-service, performance-based playground inspection, preventive maintenance, repair, emergency response, cleaning services for DoWEA facilities located in Europe South Region. For the purposes of this PWS, playgrounds include all playground systems and associated features, whether standalone or co-located, including but not limited to: Playground equipment and structures; Playground surfacing systems; Hard-surface and multi-use play courts; Outdoor recreational and athletic surfaces; and, Perimeter features, furnishings, and appurtenances. The Contractor shall furnish all management, supervision, labor, tools, equipment, materials, transportation, documentation, and incidentals necessary to ensure playgrounds remain safe, serviceable, compliant, and operational throughout the period of performance.
