Sources Sought-Pyxis Automated Dispensing Cabinets Mescalero Service Unit

The Indian Health Service (IHS), Albuquerque Area Office (AAO), intends to award a sole source, firm-fixed-price contract to Carefusion Solutions LLC (UEI: E99HA2K3YTG8) for the procurement of BD Pyxis Automated Dispensing System and software support services for the Mescalero Indian Health Center located in Mescalero, NM.

This requirement is a renewal for one base year plus four option years that will be established under this action.  This sole source action is being pursued in accordance with FAR 6.302-1, Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements.  The determination is supported by market research indicating Carefusion Solutions LLC is the only vendor capable of providing the required BD Pyxis automated dispensing system and software support services necessary to maintain continuity within the Government’s existing environment.

Period of Performance is for one base year plus four options years, as follows:

Base Year: 08/01/2026 – 07/31/2027

1st Option Year: 08/01/2027 – 07/31/2028

2nd Option Year: 08/01/2028 – 07/31/2029

3rd Option Year: 08/01/2029 – 07/31/2030

4th Option Year: 08/01/2030 – 07/31/2031

The estimated total value is below the simplified acquisition threshold. 

BD Pyxis system and software are currently onsite, fully installed and operational, and utilized by clinicians and pharmacy staff.  These services are essential to sustain decentralized medication management to support safe, secure, and efficient medication storage, dispensing, inventory control, and regulatory compliance.  Any lapse in licensing or support would increase operational risk and may result in loss of vendor-supported functionality.

Parties who believe they can meet this requirement must submit a capability statement demonstrating clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advantageous to the Government, would not cause delays or increased costs, and would fully support the mission objectives of the agency.

The determination to compete or not compete this procurement is solely at the discretion of the Government.  Information received will be considered solely for determining whether competitive procurement is appropriate.  The Government is not responsible for any costs incurred in responding to this notice.
