Services Provided: The Contractor shall provide Intraoperative Neurophysiologic Monitoring (IONM) services that meet the standards of the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and The Joint Commission. Services shall be delivered in accordance with the specifications outlined in thE Performance Work Statement (PWS) to beneficiaries of the VA St. Louis Health Care System (VASTLHCS), John Cochran Division.
Place of Performance: Contractor shall furnish services at the VA St. Louis Healthcare System; John Cochran Division 915 N. Grand, St. Louis, MO 63106
Scope: The Contractor shall provide comprehensive Intraoperative Neurophysiologic Monitoring (IONM) services for patients undergoing surgical procedures at the VA St. Louis Health Care System. The Contractor shall furnish all required personnel, equipment, software, network infrastructure, materials, and supervision necessary to deliver these services. Services shall include on-site technologists and remote neurologist oversight with real-time interpretation.
Coverage shall be available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year for scheduled and emergency cases. The Contractor shall respond promptly to all requests, including elective and urgent/emergent cases, ensuring that an on-site technologist and a remote neurologist are available within 60 minutes of notification for emergencies. For elective cases, the Contractor shall ensure availability to provide services within two (2) business days of request. Services shall be conducted in the operating room on a per-case basis as determined by VA Surgical Service. The Contractor shall promptly communicate any changes to scheduled monitoring, including date, time, or type of monitoring, to the VA.
The Contractor shall provide pre-operative, intraoperative, and post-operative monitoring using contractor-owned telemedicine technology for secure, real-time communication. Included modalities encompass auditory evoked potentials, electroencephalogram (EEG), electromyography (EMG), nerve conduction studies, somatosensory evoked potentials (SSEP), motor evoked potentials (MEP), visual evoked potentials (VEP), blink reflex testing, neuromuscular junction testing, and continuous intraoperative neurophysiology monitoring both on-site and remotely.
