Lock and Dam 10, Island Building Project, Phase 3The work includes construction of various size and shaped islands within the Mississippi River, near Lock and Dam 10, Guttenberg, IA. The base of the islands will be constructed with granular fill and if needed from main-channel dredging. The islands will be topped with fine fill obtained from access and habitat dredging, planted with native grass and willows, and stabilized with various rock structures such as groins and vanes. There will also be several stand-alone rock features.
