CorrelateIQ reveals hidden relationships among many data streams at once, catching hidden patterns, early warning signs and operating shifts that single-variable monitoring overlooks. Built on analysis techniques from high-energy physics, this software from Los Alamos National Laboratory turns existing sensor and process data into practical insight that helps organizations prevent failures, protect quality and reduce downtime. Because the method makes no assumptions about where the data comes from, it applies to a wide range of numeric data, from manufacturing sensors and equipment logs to financial records, market data and scientific measurements. Overview Factories, laboratories, infrastructure networks, financial and real-estate markets now produce huge volumes of linked data from sensors, equipment logs and transactions. Most analytics tools, however, judge each variable separately or depend on fixed thresholds that trigger an alert only after a single reading crosses a limit. These methods have trouble spotting effects that arise from subtle interactions among many variables, such as gradual equipment wear, a drifting manufacturing process or a market entering a new phase. As a result, organizations often miss the earliest warning signals, react to failures only after they happen and leave much of the value in their data untapped. Teams in every data-reach fields need a practical way of understanding how an entire system behaves as a whole, not merely how each part performs alone. Key Benefits Spots early warning signs before small problems become costly failures Uncovers the hidden factors that drive outcomes such as quality, risk or price Reveals relationships across many data sources that conventional tools miss Identifies which combinations of variables matter most Gets more value from data organizations already collect Works across industries and data types, from factory sensors to financial records Condenses complex, high-volume data into clear, compact indicators Complements existing monitoring, machine learning and digital twin systems Core Capabilities At its core, CorrelateIQ: Correlation-Based System Intelligence measures collective behavior. Users choose the variables or signals of interest, and the software calculates higher-order correlations that capture how those inputs change together rather than separately. The framework accepts mixed data types, including time-series records, sensor readings, transactional data and scientific measurements. It condenses them into compact representations of overall system behavior. Because the software reduces many interacting variables to a smaller set of meaningful indicators, complex environments become easier to read, compare and act upon. CorrelateIQ also goes beyond a single snapshot. It tracks how correlation patterns change over time, so users can see shifts in operating state, new anomalies and transitions from one regime to another. Its outputs can act as an analytics or feature-generation layer that feeds existing monitoring, control or machine learning systems. It can run in real-time monitoring pipelines or offline analytics platforms. Planned improvements include automated selection and ranking of the most useful correlations, adaptive correlation building and closer integration with predictive maintenance and digital twin workflows.
