Essayons Turning Gland Bearings

THIS IS A SPECIAL NOTICE PREPARED IN ACCORDANCE WITH REVOLUTIONARY FEDERAL OVERHAUL (RFO) 5.2

"SYNOPSIS OF PROPOSED CONTRACT ACTIONS." U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Portland District intends to negotiate/award a sole-source contract with IHC America Inc, for turning gland bearing rings. The statutory authority for this non-competitive acquisition is 10 U.S.C 3204(a)(1) as implemented by RFO 6.103-1, Only one responsible source.

The USACE Dredge Vessel Essayons is equipped with two Royal IHC manufactured Turning Glands, one on each Drag Arm – Port and Starboard. Each Turning Gland contains phosphorus bronze Bearing Rings that enable the Drag Arm to rotate during dredging operations. These Bearing Rings have reached the end of their service life and require replacement with OEM Bearing Rings.   The contractor shall Provide bow thruster variable frequency drive (VFD) critical spares to include Driver IGBT, HMI, Copper Bar support.

The required Bearing Rings, as well as the Turning Gland itself, is solely manufactured by Royal IHC and is a proprietary design.

The Contractor shall provide two (2) sets of USACE Essayons IHC Turning Gland Bearing Rings consisting of two (2) Bearing Rings per set for a total of four (4) Bearing Rings. Bearing Rings shall be of CuAl10Ni (CC333G) and machined to OEM drawings.

The Contractor shall provide documentation of Final Machined Dimensions of each ring as well as a Material Test Report. Delivery location: USACE District Warehouse located at 8010 NW St Helens Rd, Portland OR, 97210.
 

A SOLICITATION WILL NOT BE POSTED. The Government intends to proceed with this sole source action. The NAICS code is 336611. The size standard is 1,300 employees for the NAICS code defined by the U.S. Small Business Administration.
