U.S. Bureau of Reclamation Engaging Industry for the Patillas Dam Seismic Retrofit Project
The U.S. Bureau of Reclamation (USBR), supported by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Caribbean District, is expanding engagement with industry partners to prepare for significant upcoming construction and infrastructure efforts in Puerto Rico.
Patillas Dam Industry Outreach Event
The USBR will host a two‑day industry outreach event on June 11–12, supported by the USACE Caribbean District. The event will bring together engineering firms, contractors, and technical specialists to discuss the ongoing Patillas Dam Seismic Retrofit Project, which is currently in final design by the USBR.
The event will take place at the USACE Caribbean District offices. USBR’s Project Manager and Project Construction Liaison will provide a detailed design update and answer industry questions. A guided site visit to the Patillas Dam will follow on the second day.

9:00 a.m. – Noon: Vehicles will depart the Estadio Municipal Gaspar Cochran (18.005808, -66.018388) Patillas, Puerto Rico in route to the Patillas Dam at 09:00 a.m.
This outreach event supports early coordination with industry, helping interested companies better understand the project’s technical requirements and preparing them for future acquisition planning. These requirements include seismic retrofit measures, outlet works reconstruction, and complex construction sequencing.
