- The document(s) below contain a description of the motor development requirements and a Contractor Capability Survey. The Survey allows Contractors to provide their company’s capability.
- If, after reviewing these documents, you desire to participate in the market research, you should provide documentation that supports your company’s capability in meeting these requirements. Failure to provide documentation may result in the government being unable to adequately assess your capabilities. If you lack sufficient experience in a particular area, please provide details explaining how you would overcome the lack of experience/capabilities in order to perform that portion of the requirement (i.e., teaming, subcontracting, etc.)
- Identify any areas of work that your organization believes should be broken out exclusively for Small Business.
- Both large and small businesses are encouraged to participate in this Market Research. Joint ventures or teaming arrangements are encouraged.

PURPOSE
This RFI is being conducted to identify different potential Non-commercial sources in determining if a future contract effort can be competitively awarded and/or awarded on a total or partial Small Business Set-Aside basis. The applicable North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) code assigned to this effort is 335312 (Motor and Generator Manufacturing) with the Small Business Size Standard of 1250 employees.
The motor was previously provided by the original equipment manufacturer for this item, Goodrich Corp., TRW Lucas Aerospace (00462). The Government has a current requirement to develop a new source of supply for the RPU compressor motor. The technical data required to manufacture is not owned by the Government and it is uneconomical to acquire the data.
Contractor shall furnish all sub-components, material, support equipment, tools, test equipment, and services. The contractor is responsible for providing, maintaining, and calibrating all support equipment required at their facility or a subcontractor’s facility. Contractor furnished material or parts used for replacement shall equal or exceed the quality of the original material or parts.
If the Government decides to award a contract for this or related effort, a solicitation will be published and posted on the Federal Business Opportunities website. The Government will use this information solely to determine the appropriate acquisition strategy for this procurement. The Government is interested in all small business concerns.

The RPU consists of a motor directly coupled to a positive-displacement compressor. The RPU provides the primary motive force for circulating air throughout the radar system. Key technical specifications are as follows:
- Input Power: 115 Volts AC, 1-phase, 400 Hz
- Output: 48 HP @ 7200 +/- 10% RPM
- Weight: 2 lb. 15 oz
The B-52 RPU Compressor Motor 6105-00-870-7919 must meet form, fit, function, and interface requirements as referenced in T.O. 15A3-3-24-4. However, the Government does not own the data or the rights to the data needed to complete the manufacture of this part. Goodrich Corp. is the only known supplier of this NSN.
The service shall include providing obsolete parts resolution along with the necessary engineering to investigate Deficiency Reports and Material Improvement Projects (MIPs).

Part II. Capability Survey Questions
- General Capability Questions:
- Describe briefly the capabilities of your facility and nature of the goods and/or services you provide. Include a description of your staff composition and management structure.
