DESCRIPTION OF REQUIREMENT:

The Department of the Air Force intends to award a sole source contract to Taco Antenna, a division of Wade Antennas Inc, for UHF SATCOM Fixed Helical Antennas and the required antenna installation items on Macdill Air Force Base.

This requirement is for RSSC East Antennas. This requirement includes the following items:

SOLE SOURCE JUSTIFICATION:

This acquisition is being conducted on a sole source basis to Taco Antenna under the authority of RFO 6.103-1 (Only One Responsible Source) and 10 U.S.C. 3204(a)(1). Taco Antenna systems are built specifically for secure, classified military SATCOM operations and meet all required military specifications. They are fully interoperable across our existing radio fleet, regardless of manufacturer. Taco Antenna is the only vendor that meets these technical requirements while supplying the necessary installation hardware as a complete package. Buying a complete, compatible antenna kit lowers shipping and handling costs and reduces contracting overhead from multiple suppliers. After various internet searches, SAM.gov searches, and a GSA advantage search, there is only one source that provides this type of antenna and can also provide all of the other required antenna installation items. This means Taco Antenna is the only source that can do the scope of the work in this requirement.

RESPONSE TO THIS NOTICE:

This is a presolicitation notice only. No quotes or proposals are being requested at this time. A solicitation will be issued directly to Taco Antenna as the sole source contractor. This notice is being posted to satisfy the requirements of RFO 5.101 for acquisitions using the authority at RFO 6.103-1.

Interested parties may submit capability statements or information relevant to this requirement; however, this is a sole source acquisition and the Government does not intend to award to any other contractor.
