STATEMENT OF NEED
Background/Scope: The CMCVAMC VA Medical Center requires acquisition of the Alpha Omega neurophysiology system. This system is essential to support advanced electrophysiological Surgeries and precision neural recordings as part of ongoing protocols.
Product Description:
Leksell Non-XYZ Frame Mechanical Kit
Complete accessory set including Leksell non-XYZ frame adapter, long BenGun, microelectrode holders, universal DBS lead holder, DBS ruler, and related components.
Required for precise and stable stereotactic frame mounting and electrode guidance during neurosurgical research procedures.
Leksell XY Frame Adapter
Provides additional positioning flexibility and compatibility with the Leksell stereotactic system, enabling controlled movemeDRAFT
nt in the X and Y axes.
NeuroOmega Neuro Drive Headstage Kit
Integrated drive and recording headstage including:
Sterilization tray for the drive headstage and cable
Drives and microelectrodes in a single assembly
Electronically controlled microdrive
10 channels capable of unsorted raw, high frequency spike, and low frequency LFP signals
Signal digitization and broadband filtering
Single cable connection between system and sterile field
Essential for acquiring high-quality neural signals, enabling both microelectrode positioning and real-time data collection.
Collectively, this equipment will support high-fidelity microelectrode recordings, precise neural targeting, and accurate signal digitization necessary for preclinical neuroscience investigations. Without these capabilities, the laboratory will be unable to perform required electrophysiological mapping or collect data at the resolution demanded by current research standards.
This system will enable the department to:
Conduct advanced neural recording experiments with high spatial and temporal precision
Support research protocols that cannot be executed with existing equipment
Generate robust data suitable for publication and compliance with grant requirements
Acquisition of this system directly supports the scientific mission and research goals of our program and is essential for continued compliance with institutional research standards.
Delivery Coordination: Normal business hours for acceptance of deliveries are 8:00am-3:30pm, Monday through Friday excluding Federal Holidays.
